"Deke had lost the strength and coordination in her hind legs. Traditional veterinary care was unable to help her. Thanks to a timely chiropractic intervention, we're playing fetch on her 16th birthday!"

Just a few days ago, our middle-aged Dachschund was running around our house with our other pets and enjoying life. The day after, he started to act painful in his abdomen and rear end. We took him to our vet yesterday and today. In short, he has a back injury.
Our options:
1) back surgery at the UM Veterinary Hospital
(back surgery doesn't ensure you pet will ever be the same as they were before their injury),
2) medical care plus chiropractic care,
3) put him to sleep.
We are now trying to locate a chiropractor who will work with our beloved dog. In 6 - 8 weeks time, we are hoping that he will improve to the point where he will be able to walk again. Sure wish there was an easy way to find someone who can work with our vet to help our sweet boy to feel better and, hopefully, become more mobile.

"My wife and I are breeders-handlers of purebred Cairn Terriers and live in St. Paul. We are approved to care for more than three dogs by the St. Paul Animal Control, and are visited annually by animal control officers for our approvals. We regularly attend all breed and specialty dog shows in the United States and Canada. We are members of local, national, and international breed clubs that promote ethical care, breeding and placement of canines. We are serious about these animals, our hobby, and animal control regulations.
Recently, one of our dogs developed what appeared to be low back pain and we felt she needed chiropractic care. We sought help in the Twin Cities area and expected to find accessible and reasonably-priced chiropractic care for our dog. We were wrong. We could not find available-when-needed and reasonably-priced animal chiropractic care, even in the Twin Cities. From a list provided by our veterinarian, we found a small number, perhaps ten, of veterinarians, specially-trained and offering chiropractic care, with appointments possible in one months' time, and at $200 for the first visit. With the normally-responsive market for human and non-chiro veterinary health care in the Twin Cities, we were shocked. Our Cairn Terrier went without care.
The regulation of chiropractic care for animals in Minnesota appears needlessly restrictive."

I am currently taking my dog to Wisconsin every three weeks for chiropratic care. The care has helped alleviate his back and hip pain and is allowing him to enjoy life again.

My daughter's cat was diagnosed with diabetes. As with most diabetic cats, this meant he had to receive insulin injections twice per day. Her vet advised that his diet be changed. This seemed to help some. My daughter also began to get the cat adjusted by an animal chiropractor in Wisconsin. I am happy to report that now that he is getting adjusted regularly, he no longer needs insulin shots and his blood sugar levels are perfect. What a miracle!

My horse, Sunny, is a believer in chiropractic! We were on a mountain trail. Over time I had noticed Sunny's usual eagerness to go on the trails was getting less and less. I thought it was old age, he is 22 this year. One day he kept stopping. I decided that maybe he was getting too old for the mountains. I took him to the chiropractor in a neighboring town. In Washington, the chiropractor has a a separate business that provides equine services. Well, after one treatment, in the parking lot of a strip mall where his office is, Sunny was ready and willing to do the trails once again. I suggest that Minnesota figure out that animals have spines too!
